Handy Hints

We will soon announce some of our exciting new ideas and creations for the holidays! With only a few more weeks left of school, we are thinking and dreaming of all the delicious things we can make and do. Dusting off the old sewing machines and stitching and snipping and binding and gluing and drawing and painting and weaving and kissing and dancing our way into the new Grey Gardens range for winter. Put the kettle on! Oh and here's some nice things/cryptic picture clues!

Art Vandelay- An Exhibition About Nothing!

Hello there! Just a note to tell you all we are both in a totally wonderful group exhibition opening tonight at our pretty little gallery, ARThive.
It's all about SEINFELD! How awesome is that! (Secret fingers crossed Larry David and/or Jerry Stiller hear word and comes for a visit.)
Images of our work and the work of all the other rad artists will be posted after we get some photographs tonight!
If you're in the Newcastle area, or you feel like travelling, come hang and treat your eyes to a visual feast and your tummy to some Junior Mints, pretzels, Oreo's and TWIXXXXXXXXXXX!

Pretty pictures from the Art & Design Markets

The first one is the sweetest little girl enamoured of her little toys purchased from us and created by Jessica Louttit. The second is our super awesome stall tables. Its difficult to see but we had the entire corner, and worked that thing  like a well dressed version of Kit De Luca. The forth is the lovely work of Miss Emma Lee Crane for her label, Flamboyant Joe. The last is some fantastic puppy themed bunting from Paloma Le Sage.

Art & Design Markets

We set off on a grand adventure last weekend to the Art & Design Markets held in Wollongong and run by our friends Emma Lee (of the darling shop, Milk Thieves) and Sal (of the ever pretty, Chloe and Viscount). Having never been to Wollongong before, it was really all a bit exciting.

So..We got lost (both on the way there and on the way home) and upon arrival were greeted with rain however, we found our way eventually and were tucked away up high in the third floor of the city gallery and it turned out to be a fantastic day!  We sold not only our Grey Gardens creations but also those of our super hero friends-Jessica Louttit, Jayde Nicholls and Grant Hunter

We met some lovely new people, made a little bit of Grey Gardens pocket money and also ate a pretty great veggie wrap. Oh, soda of the day was FizZzzZy Strawberries and Cream.. seriously it was the best drink ever! Photos of our stall coming soon.. for now, enjoy this photograph of the outside of the gallery featuring flowers made by Emma Lee and Sal!

Hydrangeas

On an afternoon walk around our sleepy little neighborhood we found rows upon rows of big fat hydrangeas. These gorgeous blooms are just so romantic and pander to our nostalgic sensibilities.
For our new season of little creations this flower may be a feature! That and Amy of course!

We'll go to Alabama in the Spring

"...Billy Ray was a preacher's son
And when his daddy would visit he'd come along
When they gathered around and started talkin'
That's when Billy would take me walkin'
Out through the back yard we'd go walkin'
Then he'd look into my eyes
Lord knows, to my surprise

The only one who could ever reach me
Was the son of a preacher man
The only boy who could ever teach me
Was the son of a preacher man
Yes he was, he was, ooh, yes he was ... "

Son of a Preacher Man - Dusty Springfield
